Surajkund Mela, the most colourful event in India, is held every year in Faridabad, Haryana consistently from February 1 to February 15 amid spring season. Surajkund mela is India's most remembered global Crafts mela organised by Haryana Tourism Department.

This fair was first set up in 1987. It is special as it grandstands the extravagance and differing qualities of the handicrafts, handlooms, social texture of India and gifted craftsmen from everywhere throughout the nation which show the rich specialties of India.

For the 31st Surajkund International Crafts Mela-2017, the state of Jharkhand has been chosen to be the Theme State. At least 20 countries & all the states of India participated in the Mela.
Artists and different entertainers featured the traditional dance and other works of art of the place, and individuals from more than 20 nations visited the Mela to witness this social extravaganza. The celebration began with a colossal sprinkle of hues, the thumps of drums, the musicality to the music played and the general population sang and moved praising the spring season. The multi-cuisine nourishment at the Mela premises gave the guests finger-licking dishes. Fun rides and other exciting activities were additionally organised for the children.

There was wooden toy making from Varanasi, leather puppetry from Andhra Pradesh, Zinc-silver cut utensils from Karnataka, Paper Mache from Jammu and Kashmir, Madhubani depictions from Bihar, Iron-made antiquities from Chhatisgarh, Gulabi Meenakari from Varanasi, Terra cotta work from Delhi, Wooden Toys from Orissa and a lot more than you can imagine.
