Brushes stroking canvas

telling a story of their own

Colours blending like never before

and creating art not just a clone ...

This is what comes to my mind as I observe Shreya Khurana's creative office.

Shreya Khurana,a graduate from London School of Economics and an expert in digital marketing is now adding another chapter to her life by experimenting with fashion like never before.

Just like most of the success stories, her idea was not really appreciated by her fashion professor back in London. And today, she single-handedly running her label 'Wrapped in Art'. It is a very unique concept and a perfect blend of fashion and art.

'It was one of the days when I looked at my mum's painting and thought that it deserved more appreciation", she says pointing out at a beautiful floral composition on the wall. It was that one idea that clicked and inspired her to do more, to digitalise and print her mother's paintings on scarves and other wearables. How genius is that?

The paintings have a very unique colour palate and have a lot of variety mostly their floral an abstract which can which work the best for these products. What really fascinated me was when I saw the entire process in frame , there was the canvas then the digital version and right next to it was the fabric for collection. I also particularly liked how she had displayed pocket squares in little cocktail glasses. White paper cutouts in shapes of pockets are put across stuffed with colourful silk pocket squares. Her products are balanced very well as she did not overdo them with embellishments or add-ons, the focus remains on the print.

It started out as a small scale investment for only scarves and Pashmina shawls but now after getting such a great response in just a few months the young entrepreneur has included pocket squares for men, purses and slings for women and also kaaftans. She has also experimented these prints on overalls and beachwear.

She has a very strong vision about being independent and following her own intuitions and hopes as high as her mother . All in all I'd say she's anything but cliche !

"I don't want to do everything that everyone is doing" stands very true to her work. She wants to reinvent the selling and marketing approach as well as after starting a target market she concludes that her products are for people who have an eye for art and who understand the value of these exclusive prints.

If you think that all this awesomeness is going to be heavy on your pocket then you are wrong. Her products are very reasonably priced and will be the best buy for this summer. Call her to book an appointment to head over to her design studio or follow her on Instagram.
