Hot 'Haute' Cuisine!!!

Plates painted over with scrumptious dressings, salads wreathes and fun colourful berries to add to this artistic composition. At Fig and Maple food actually makes you smile! Art makes you smile, isn't it?

To be honest, the place is not extraordinarily stunning to look at, neither is the ambience too good but the food and the hospitality is welcoming and its almost like the place lets you gel in.

Their food is either plated on plain white or on plain black. The furniture is sleek and black and the walls bare white. You might be wondering why, the food lights up the room! Believe me when i say it, the presentation will astonish you. I never knew there were colours could please you until i saw my dessert.

To begin with, I reached at about 10 p.m and the patio was more crowded than I expected. I could see a couple on one end and family on the other. I sat right next to a group of college friends. I made a mental note just then, ' A place for all sorts of love'.

The menu is not very elaborate but every dish is unique and I bet you haven't heard of 'Beetroot and chocolate milkshake'. Now that's some real flavour there!

Their salad actually look like a salad not just a creamy fattening batter! Giving you just right amount of greens and veggies topped with some berries and fresh lemon zest.The plate looks full, and one is already eating with their eyes. A huge dinner plate with carefully put bed of leaves and fresh ingredients does not intimidate you. It only invites you for more morsels, each mouthful, giving you repose of flavours.

The menu is designed for people who want to experiment with the most under-investigated tastes for Indian sense of taste.

After trying the wholegrain waffles, garnished with blossoms and goose berries and beautifully balanced wasabi cream sauce, I am sure Fig and Maple is going to be on the list 'best waffle places around Delhi'.

Well, there's always room for dessert and specially when it's cheesecake! Even though you are trying to lose a couple of inches, their Cotton Custard is .. just see the picture below and ask yourself if you can ignore it?

So, after a very satisfying meal at this airy green terrace of Greater Kailash 2, I would suggest you to give butter chicken a break and try this!
